If you're looking for ways to support separated children in Michigan, a classroom teacher for over 30 years told us about Bethany Ministry's Refugee and Immigrant Services- which has been serving children and families since 1944, with experience in Refugee & Immigrant Services since 1976.  Full disclosure, this

Watch their statement on the separation of children at the border and warehousing of children.

Here are a few of the services they provide.

    • Foster Care and Foster Care Adoption
As a foster family, you can provide temporary and long-term support, love, and hope for these children. If it is not possible for the foster child to return to his or her birthfamily, the court will change the goal for the child to adoption. In many cases, foster parents will choose to adopt their foster child(ren), if they are unable to return to their birthfamily.

    • **Refugee Foster Care
The youth we serve are unaccompanied minors who were separated from their families by war, abuse, natural disasters, or community violence. They desperately need a loving and accepting foster home to welcome them to their new country and prepare them for future independence. **Only available in certain Bethany locations.

    • Safe Families for Children
Click here to see a video about Safe Families for Children or visit safe-families.org to learn more. Safe Families for Children is NOT foster care. As a voluntary host family or family friend, you will provide temporary care and support to a struggling family in need.
