Mindful Games for Enhancing Attention, Balance and Compassion
Susan Kaiser-Greenland, JD
Mindfulness and meditation enable children and their caregivers to develop focusing skills while learning to regulate emotions and respond to any situation calmly, with kindness and compassion. In this workshop, you will learn the why and how of sharing mindfulness with youth, using creative methods developed and tested over many years with children, parents, teachers, and caregivers. You will explore how mindfulness and meditation impart six essential life skills — Quieting, Focusing, Seeing, Reframing, Caring and Connecting — and you will learn simple games to integrate mindfulness into your daily routine. While these games are designed for kids, they can be just as fun and transformative for adults. Mindful games help children and caregivers alike develop greater mind-body awareness and reduce stress. They can easily be adapted for home, school or clinic. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as long-time meditation practitioners.
