Ice Cube Meditation
In this meditation with an everyday object, we notice what happens in our minds and bodies when we put a cube of ice in the palm of our hand.
The ice doesn't hurt much at first, but the longer it sits there, the less pleasant the experience. The discomfort is more manageable, though, if you relax your arm and hand while holding the ice. And then the experience changes again.
When faced with an unpleasant experience, have you noticed that the experience is easier or harder to work with depending on how you relate to it?
